On Africa Day, India-Africa Friendship festival was held at the Embassy of India, Rabat with cultural performances highlighting the enduring India–Africa friendship and the close cultural ties between India, Morocco and Africa.

The programme featured performances by the Indian cultural troupe led by Shri Dharmender Kumar, Head of Sanjhi Sanskriti Foundation, Kurukshetra, Haryana, including Kathak and Haryanvi folk dances, as well as a presentation by Padma Shri Shri Mahabir Singh Guddu.

Moroccan artists also performed popular Indian songs, reflecting the strong resonance of Indian cinema and culture in Morocco.

Ambassador Sanjay Rana highlighted the importance India attaches to its partnership with Morocco and Africa.

He recalled the words of Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi that "India carries Africa in its heart".

The artists were felicitated on the occasion.
